In depth

Verdict

Thompsons Walls is dropped in grade here and he should prove tough to beat; the most likely dangers are Ike Quebec and Rich Kid. Patrick Haslam is a shrewd trainer and he looks to have found a good opportunity for his two-year-old who has shown decent form in a higher grade than this. He clipped heels and unseated his rider last time, but providing there are no ill-effects from that then he should go well. Ike Quebec wasn't beaten far in second behind Then 'n Now last time on her first try on the Polytrack, and if she can build on that effort she will not be far away at the finish. Rich Kid made a winning handicap debut at Leicester last time beating Howdigo, but he looks to have his limitations and that is perhaps why he has been dropped back into a claimer. Geezers Colours won well last time and is another worth considering, but for the winner we are happy to stick with Thompsons Walls.
