In depth

Verdict

This looks a match-up between Alpes Maritimes and Demisemiquaver and we will take a chance on the first mentioned. Demisemiquaver does have ability but sometimes seems a little reluctant to use it and if he gets into a battle then he could again be found wanting. That is why we prefer the claims of Alpes Maritimes who ran into a decent type when second behind Swop over this course and distance last time. If he reproduces that effort today then it should be good enough to see him shake-off his maiden tag at the fourteenth time of asking. John Gosden's Mini Mosa is the other worth a mention as she was only narrowly beaten behind our selection last time. However, Alpes Maritimes was flying at the finish after being caught up in traffic problems and granted a trouble-free run here he should be hard to beat.
