Verdict

These all-weather bumpers are sometimes a bit of a lottery but this race last year produced a subsequent Grade 2 winner over hurdles. Dubai Durham was beaten under a length in a mares’ bumper over track and trip last month and Sangha River made a winning start under Rules at Doncaster. Normal Norman won at Market Rasen in the autumn and then ran in a Listed race at Cheltenham but BLACK KALANISI may be the one to be on. He started favourite at Ludlow in November and wasn’t beaten far. The winner has turned out to be smart performer and Ben Pauling’s charge will know more today. You Raised Me Up has travelled over from Ireland but hasn’t raced since April.
