In depth

Verdict

War Native can account for Laahig and Versaki. The dogs were most definitely barking about War Native ahead of his debut at Newmarket and while it was not the strongest of races, he did it professionally and in the style of a decent recruit. Laahig represents a trainer coming back into form. A winner on bottomless ground at Carlisle, he was far from disgraced next time out. Versaki is the likely pace angle here. Connections have flown high in the past and this appears a more realistic level. Fisher Hill has to find improvement. Fullback should be up to winning a maiden but this is a tougher ask. The newcomers are watched cautiously in the market. Its tough to get away from War Native and we seek not to.
