Verdict

Royal Defence never figured in four starts on turf last year and is returning from a lay-off, while Saviour Sand looks up against it on today's terms despite a better effort last time. Both Charlie Smirke and Dichoh have proved best over shorter trips so far and, though he won over C&D earlier this month, Edgeworth has 9lb to find at these weights with OFFICER IN COMMAND. Stan Moore's charge has been racing without success on the all-weather in France of late but won a similar contest over C&D in December and looks to have a leading chance back in this country.
