Verdict

General Blucher gets the confident vote in this maiden with Smooth Sovereign and Hawk House rating the main dangers. The selection was a fair third behind Parisian Gift last time out is sure to have learnt from the experience and given nominal improvement he will be hard to beat. Smooth Sovereign rates the main danger as he is a well bred colt by King's Best from a yard in form and he will not need to be anything special to take a hand in the finish so he should be watched in the market. Hawk House is another that could go well but he is bred to be better on turf and he may be seen to better effects in handicaps. Of the others Ella was third behind Basalt last time and may be suited by the drop in trip but for the winner we are happy to return to General Blucher who looks sure to improve.
