In depth

Verdict

Kinky Afro has the highest rating of those to have earned one and ran well off a mark of 67 in a handicap at Wolverhampton two starts ago in September, form that gives her solid claims, but Stan Moore's filly was well held at Newmarket on her most recent start and preference is for PERFECT SECRET with Emma Jean Lass rated the main danger. The selection made a promising debut when a close fourth in a Goodwood maiden in May before losing no caste in defeat on her only subsequent start at Kempton last month and Andrew Balding's filly looks worth backing to open her account. Miss Polly Plum and Red Yarn are similarly lightly raced with the latter, trained by Gary Moore, looking the more likely to play a part in the finish having run well over course and distance last time. Sylvester Kirk's Fareham Town needs to improve on all known form to be involved at the business end and of more interest may be Emma Jean Lass, who comes from the in-form David Evans yard. She has disappointed of late but is capable and has to be considered in what seems a poor contest. Perfect Secret has an obvious chance though and she looks the one to beat.
