In depth

Verdict

Frank's Quest is still a force at this level and gets the vote over Green Pirate and Bollywood, while the in-form Bowl Of Cherries has to be respected even though this looks a bit tougher than last week's Kempton success. The last named has a much stiffer task giving weight away to lesser rivals and, as he is yet to prove himself at Lingfield, he looks vulnerable on this occasion. Bollywood is better than his recent form figures would suggest and is one to monitor in the betting. The drop in trip is expected to suit him and it would come as no surprise to see him go well at a fair price. Green Pirate ran encouragingly at Wolverhampton nine days ago and a repeat dose would bring him right into the equation. George Baker got a good tune out of him on that occasion and it's a big plus that they are reunited today. Nevertheless, Frank's Quest and Sam Hitchcott have also struck up a good working relationship and, as the Andrew Haynes-trained gelding has a more solid Lingfield profile, he is nominated as the one to be on this afternoon.
