    Verdict

Division two of the mile handicap looks more open than the first, with quite a few holding claims. Welsh Wind should be kept on the right side, as he is capable of popping in at a big price. the more recent form on the all-weather though has been shown by the likes of Basinet, Mush and Lobos. The latter does have topweight to overcome but has been there or thereabouts on his last three starts and has the in-form Chris Catlin in the plate. Mush was a beaten favourite behind Urban Myth at Wolverhampton last time, and as that one was only just denied a follow-up on Monday, he can be expected to go close. Nick Littmoden reckons that he was well handicapped when scoring off a mark of 66 at Newmarket in August, so the fact he races off 56 here makes his chance obvious. Basinet was also a beaten favourite last time, and this former Lynda Ramsden inmate was due to go hurdling. They obviously think that he is capable of landing a race of this nature, but he has yet to race on the Polytrack and might find things a bit too fast here for him here. Uno Mente shaped well when coming from off the pace behind Easter Ogil last time, and success for that one in the first division of this will boost his claims, but only for each-way purposes, as we reckon that Mush will take the beating from stall one.
