        Verdict

        An awful opener with very little for us to go on, but Mountain Pass looks to have a good opportunity of getting off the mark, with Desert Dust and Chantelle's Dream perhaps other to consider. The selection has Jamie Spencer booked and that will probably be significant. Despite being a maiden after 10 starts in Ireland, he drops back to the minimum trip here and is officially rated so much better than the rest that he is an obvious choice to put that experience to good use. Desert Dust is another on his Lingfield debut and who drops back in trip here, and he has racecourse experience on his side. Neither is guaranteed to be of benefit, but as one who has shown better form than most, he can claim a place. Chantelle's Dream went closest to breaking her maiden over 6f here last week in a claimer, though ran flat next time. She has plenty to find on the book, but may be good enough to join the other pair in the frame, but in a poor race we take Mountain Pass to score.
