Verdict

CROAN ROCK is an interesting recruit from the pointing field and he will be suited if this race develops into a test of stamina. On Trend went through the ring at Cheltenham for £35000 having been successful in a Kill point-to-point and one would expect him to improve on what he shows today. Beau Lake is proven with plenty of give underfoot and will be the horse that the handicapper will be paying particular attention to. Filbert was unfancied on his debut in a Kempton bumper though the form of the race was let down by the fourth placed runner since. Raduis Bleu has won in France prior to joining Alan King but has struggled to get off the mark over fences or hurdles in this country.
