Verdict

GOLDTREK is on a roll and she can see off Elvira Madigan and Astral Flower in a competitive finale. Roger Charlton's filly comes here chasing a hat-trick after wins in June. She has a 6lb penalty for her latest Brighton success but that won't be enough to stop her if in the same mood and she has really relished the step up in trip this year. Elvira Madigan ran encouragingly behind Diamond Duchess at Sandown and should come on for the run. This will be the quickest ground that she has faced but it may play to her strengths. Astral Flower doesn't look the quickest but there was some promise in her handicap bow at Doncaster and she is another who will continue to improve, perhaps over further, whilst Welsh Anthem will find this much tougher than a Bath win last time out. Buona Sarah continues to run with credit and all of her placed form this year has some merit to it, especially efforts behind Stags Leap and Comedy Act. Rosy Dawn's second to Gulf President has been let down by the winner and so we are happy to return to Goldtrek as the selection.
