In depth

Verdict

The betting may offer some valuable clues. Yes My Boy beat a subsequent winner at Newcastle and that looks stronger form than the other winning debutants, Eastern Sheriff and Dancing Harry, recorded. But the former is drawn high and all three of the above are penalised. Sir Michael Stoute runs two with the newcomer Chai Yo Power, the first foal of a half-sister to a Group 1 winner, preferred to Chichester, while John Gosden is also doubly represented. He runs the Coolmore-owned Grand Deed and 350,000gns filly TAO TE CHING, who gets a token vote. The 220,000gns purchase Prince Alex is already gelded along with Delaquinn, a half-brother to a host of winners, while Tajamhor can boast five winning relatives.
