Verdict

Even Stevens has won on Polytrack but is much better on the Fibresand at Southwell and Swiss Cross is preferred on his third at Kempton last time where he had Bajan Tryst a length behind. Corporal Maddox faces a much stiffer task here than he did when landing a claimer at this track last week so the progressive three-year-old MEZZOTINT gets the vote. He's up 7lb for beating a subsequent winner at Windsor back in June but is likely to have improved further since then and a chance is taken he's fully tuned-up for his return to action.
