In depth

Verdict

This is a competitive handicap and the leading lights look to be Mr Cellophane, Arculinge and Young Bertie and the vote is given to Mr Cellophane. The selection looked like one to stay on the right side of last time at Newmarket when finishing a good second behind Inaminute. He is dropped in trip today which is a slight concern but he is clearly in good heart and he gets the narrow vote. Arculinge rates the main danger as she hails from a yard in form and she also looked like her turn may not be far away when finishing a good second behind Patavium Prince at Salisbury last time. That was her best effort so far and if she reproduces that running today she will not be far away at the finish. Young Bertie did finish ahead of our selection last month but Mr Cellophane has improved since then and Young Bertie will have to do likewise to beat him today. Buzzin'boyzee is another with solid place claims but for the winner we will return to Mr Cellophane.
