Verdict

Daddy's Gift, Green Beret and Rapid Release make most appeal in this maiden and the vote goes to Daddy's Gift. Richard Hannon's filly has only run twice but she she has shaped with promise on both occasions and she looks to have been found a good opportunity here to lose her maiden tag. This slight step-up in trip should also play to her strengths. Green Beret is a well-bred newcomer from the John Gosden yard and he has to be on the shortlist. However, the yard have yet to have a 2-year-old winner this season which does slightly temper confidence. Sir Mark Prescott's Rapid Release put in an improved effort when he wasn't beaten far at Brighton last time. If he can progress again then he should be capable of getting competitive. Marcus Tregoning's Marsool will have learnt plenty from his debut at Newbury but he will need to progress to make the frame here, and we will stick with Daddy's Gift who looks to hold rock solid claims.
