        Verdict

        Cogital and Contrive have had plenty of chances but look no nearer winning. Algaffaal has refused to enter the stalls since failing to land the odds at Chelmsford in July though he was beaten by a horse rated 79 on that occasion. It remains to be seen how he behaves at the start today and REIGNITE is preferred. The latter will need to improve on last month’s debut fourth at Kempton but may well do so. Time For A Toot went backwards last time but Alexandria is a newcomer to note.
