        Verdict

        A very moderate contest may go the way of Rose Bien, with Webbswood Lad and Drumroll put up as two others to conjure with. Bets should be kept to the bare minimum here, and only a most tentative vote goes to Rose Bien, whose best run came when she finished third in a Wolverhampton handicap last August. That is about as good as it gets, and she makes more appeal than Webbswood Lad who has failed to progress since being beaten in a photo in maiden company here last January. Drumroll had one placed effort last year, and it really is hard to say anything positive about the rest. In a race that should be quickly confined to history, we return to Rose Bien as the possible answer.
