Verdict

He may now be a bit high in the weights but it seems wrong to desert course specialist MR WILLIS who can see off Pegasus Again and Red Suede Shoes. John Best is a trainer to follow over the winter months here and this progressive son of Desert Sun has been in fine form this year. A recent comeback run over this trip resulted in success and it opens up new avenues for the three-year-old. If it turns out that this handicap mark is beyond him then the horse to side with may be Pegasus Again. Terry Mills has booked Michael Hills again and this consistent gelding looks a player off 80. Alfresco is another course and distance winner and the return to this trip shouldn't be a problem but he does look the second-string, Trafalgar Square is consistent and is well-drawn to gain a decent position, whilst Neil Callan looks an interesting jockey booking for Avertis. Red Suede Shoes did it nicely at Kempton last time out and is another progressive horse in his second season who continues to fly up the weights. The well-handicapped Esteem Machine cannot be overlooked too readily, however it is the in-form Mr Willis who is preferred.
