Verdict

Denis Hogan is normally a brilliant placer of his horses though even he appeared to be caught out when MISSIE ELLA gained a surprise victory at Thurles on Sunday. That was her first start over this sort of trip and with just a 4lb rise she's effectively 5lb well in here and can complete a quick double. Backinthere won a maiden here a month ago but this is much tougher while it's difficult to know whether it's Mackey Boy's turn to put in a decent run or not. Mollys Captain is consistent enough but has had 19 career starts without winning while Robbie McMahon, a dual winner between the flags, looks as though he requires further. Day Dream Boy looks the main threat as he was noted staying on strongly over 2m4f on his handicap debut at Fairyhouse last time.
