It's no surprise to see HAPPY NEW YEAR turning out under a small penalty for Saturday's victory at Gowran as the handicapper has raised him 9lb. With his rider's claim taken into account he's effectively 8lb better in and should complete a quick double. Big Jemmy hasn't had much racing for his age and arrives in good heart though his best recent form has been over fences. Balyfinboy had been threatening to win a race before scrambling home from Tarquinius at Navan, form that was made to look better when the runner-up scored over fences six days later. Preswell Lad doesn't win often enough and is still on a high enough mark while the five-year-old Coolking has enough weight for what he's achieved over hurdles though he did manage to score between the flags at Cregg last month.
