A very powerful Yorkshire raiding party arrive here, all in good form. Richard Fahey's Rene Mathis was attempting to concede Almargo 8lb when succumbing to the front-runner at Goodwood and with just a 1lb difference this time is entitled to get the better of Mark Johnston's charge. Brian Ellison loves his tilts at these prizes and has two entered. Baraweez came to Galway and won a tough handicap over 7f on soft ground and is probably even better over today's trip while Dream Walker has been running well enough without quite getting there. Piri Wango was just touched off in a lucrative handicap at the Galway Festival when carrying a huge weight so today's impost isn't too much of a concern while Stay De Night could be anything as he makes his handicap debut after two impressive victories over a mile. DALKOVA (NAP) went up 10lb for landing a Naas handicap in June but was then narrowly beaten in a Listed contest at Killarney. He showed himself well up to that class with a victory over Tested at Galway and looks well handicapped here on a mark of 97 so gets the vote.
