Cashelgar had very decent form when trained by Alain De Royer-Dupre in France but this is his first start for Dermot Weld after more than a year on the sidelines. Noll Wallop was quietly fancied for the Irish 2,000 Guineas in May but never got competitive. His stamina would have to be taken on trust over this longer trip but he could figure if lasting home. The relatively unexposed Await The Dawn has to be interesting following his comeback win in a minor event at Cork, but the vote goes to SOUTH EASTER. William Haggas' colt, already a winner in this grade, has been out of his depth in his last two starts but wasn't disgraced in the Coronation Cup at Epsom in June and should be sharpened up by the application of first-time blinkers.
