Verdict

MIDNIGHT CALLER is a winner in waiting following a fine second on debut at Doncaster where she finished over eleven lengths in front of Slight Advantage with Miss Villefranche further back in fifth. The ground was good that day so her ability to prove as effective under more testing conditions has to be taken on trust but she may be able to outclass her rivals. Miss Chicane has shown a reasonable level of form and should handle the ground whilst Azlaa and Etarre hinted at ability on their respective debuts. Magic Of The Sea makes some appeal on paper and needs a market check but it will be disappointing if John Gosden's half-sister to the 1998 Oaks third Midnight Line can't open her account with the minimum of fuss.
