      Verdict

      Mr Red Clubs merits topweight but all his winning form - a total of 11 successes - has been achieved on artificial surfaces and he's yet to get his head in front on grass. He may also be suited by a slightly shorter trip, although a solid run is expected all the same. The majority of rivals are either out of form or in the grip of the handicapper, although Vizier would be of definite interest if back to the level of his Hamilton win last September on his first start for the O'Meara team. The only unexposed performer on show is VERNATTI, a very lightly-raced four-year-old with just the four starts in three seasons. She scored smoothly in a Yarmouth handicap latest and must go close off what rates a decent mark despite an 8lb hike for that victory.
