A weak claimer in which the drop in trip is expected to suit Bert's Memory and Kevin Ryan's charge gets the nod ahead of Halfwaytoparadise and Lipizza. The last-named is best in at the weights and effective on soft ground he must be respected. However his best runs have come over shorter trips and so there must be stamina doubts at this fairly testing track. Thus, Bert's Memory gets the nod. He didn't get home over nine furlongs last time out and having won over the course and distance on similar ground two starts back (for today's pilot), he should run well. Ten To The Dozen has shown ability in the past but isn't the most reliable and his only win has come at the quirky seaside track of Brighton. Ruffle has claims on the pick of his form and wasn't beaten two far last time out, whilst Dragon Flame is dropped in grade and should be monitored for market support. Lady Kintyre is unexposed after just three very average runs for Tony Carroll last year and should be watched for market support from his shrewd stable. A weak race, in which Bert's Memory can get back to winning ways.
