Verdict

Roddy The Vet and County Flyer hold strong claims in this moderate event but Labula Bay is selected to carry top weight to victory. Brendan Powell's ten-year-old has had a few training problems but returned from a 20 month break to finish a gallant second to Andy's Birthday at Hereford earlier this month. That should have blown away any cobwebs and this son of Sula Bula can go one better toady. Roddy The Vet has been knocking on the door this season and saved his best till last when finishing third in a better race at Newbury last month, if the improvement continues he will be a major threat. County Flier also appears to be progressing with each race this season and must enter calculations. Of the others The October man represents strong connections and could be worth a glance in the betting, however in a very tricky event Labula Bay is the one for us.
