In depth

Verdict

Mushtaaq should be too good for Maria di Scozia and Heraclaneum. The selection is officially the best of these on official figures and while his reappearance was slightly disappointing, a return to his juvenile form should see him prevail. Maria di Scozia will be needing victory in order to enhance paddock value. She can prove her own worst enemy by hanging under pressure. Heraclaneum is closely related to winning milers. The market is watched in order to see what is anticipated. Spiritonthemount didn't show too much in previous visits to fast ground affairs so its surprising to see him entered here. Masetto's Fun has to be respected from a yard that are capable of having them ready first time out. Minjim beat one horse home in two attempts last term and must have shown something for connections to persevere into another season. Waarid will be of more interest once pitched into handicap company. Mushtaaq can pick up a race that lacks obvious strength in depth.
