With only two having run before, the market is probably the best guide, but we shall go for Alseraaj in the hope that she is ready first time, with Desert Chill and Full Marks others worth a mention. Sir Michael Stoute won this 12-months ago with Hi Calypso who was having her second outing, but hopefully Alseraaj can go one better in popping in first time. The daughter of El Prado is owned by Sheikh Hamdan who has seen his youngsters thrive this term, and with a high draw in stall 13, this young lady can give a good account based on her homework. Stablemate Laughter cost more and holds an entry in next year's Irish Oaks, so has to be respected, while Desert Chill holds no fancy entries at present, but with Frankie Dettori on board, will get a good education. Full Marks hails from a stable that has done well with its juveniles. She has been well entered up and also has the Darley Irish Oaks as her long-term target. Sterope will need further next year, but is another to note, and in a tricky opener, the pin comes down on Alseraaj.
