John Gosden's Donativum is taken to score in an interesting maiden where there are a number of runners in with a chance, and some decent form to mull over. Donativum made apleasing debut at Newbury behind an exciting Mick Channon newcomer, finishing fourth and finishing well. He shaped as if he would have learned from the experience and out of a dam who won over this trip and was useful, Donativum is the one to support here. Others of note include Paul Cole's Duke of Aquitaine who was a decent third last time, although the form is hard to weigh up and he is taken on. Barry Hills' Senatorial ran well at Chester when fourth, though the second has been a beaten favourite since. Of the newcomers Ed Dunlop's Zafaan may be the pick, though Kevin Ryan's Distinctive Spirit is respected, while The Queen's Free Agent may need further. Donativum looks the answer.
