In depth

Verdict

Soliniki may have a lot more to offer and can come back with a bang against Taranaki, Kareeb and Jacaranda. This is hard one for punters in the getting out stakes, but Soliniki won readily enough on his Ascot debut, and so has plenty of scope. Admittedly he did not beat a great deal, but did it well and has the perfect draw here in stall 17. Obviously fitness is a worry but that applies to most of the opposition as well, including Jacaranda who had bits and pieces of placed form to his credit last season. Taranaki will strip fitter following his return to action behind Zilch at Kempton five days ago, and he can boast useful winning form both on turf and the all-weather. If he gets out in front then Peter Cundell's charge can give the selection most to do. Kareeb, drawn on the near side, put in an eye-catching last burst on his Polytrack debut at Lingfield last month and is another that will be a lot straighter. He won a decent seven-furlong handicap at Newmarket last August, and can make his presence felt. All those mentioned can play a part, but Soliniki, potentially well treated, gets the vote.
