Verdict

Lasoscar is 7lb higher than when winning this 12 months ago but warmed up for a repeat by justifying market support over fences at Kilbeggan earlier this month. Lizzies Champ goes well here and wasn’t winning out of turn at Galway so also goes on the short-list. Smitty Bacall was behind in that latter race but that was a rare failure and he bounced back with a second at Tramore. Babbling Stream continues in cracking form but this looks a tall order for Master Appeal and Small World has gone up 8lb for winning at Ballinrobe when first-time blinkers had an impact. THE MAJOR GENERAL finished lame returning from a break at Galway but still ran well. He must have recovered to be entered here and is a fascinating contender from the foot of the weights, though this trip is an unknown.
