Verdict

ENCOMPASSING has seen the back of Canford Cliffs while making the pace in three Group 1 events this season and takes a huge drop in grade. He's by no means a stable star but his second to Shintoh at Navan in May would be good enough for this. In receipt of 5lbs, Alsalwa could take advantage of any slips by the Ballydoyle colt and will appreciate reverting to a mile after a fair run over 6f at the Curragh last time. Unaccompanied had a pipe-opener at Naas in June before his intended target at Galway where he duly landed a moderate maiden in good style. There's more to come from Dermot Weld's charge though he takes on much better opposition here.
