Verdict

THOMAS EDISON arrives here with a big reputation which should be justified despite meeting better quality rivals. Tony Martin's charge, who beat the high-class bumper Champagne Fever at Leopardstown in December, might have made a winning debut over timber at Gowran but for falling and made no mistake in a Bellewstown maiden earlier this month. He has unlimited potential and can concede 7lb to Top Madam, who beat the useful Letherbelucky comfortably over 2m at Down Royal after failing to stay an extra half-mile at Listowel. Run With The Wind gained his first success over timber on his sixth start when beating subsequent winner Primroseandblue at Ballinrobe and is progressing well enough to make a race of it while the former UK Flat winner Medicinal Compound gained plenty of admirers with his victory over Tepalo in a big field at Roscommon last week.
