Verdict

Montauk Flyer reverts to maiden company having run well in handicaps this year. He had no lucky in-running when starting joint favourite at Gowran in June but is only rated 97 so has a bit to find with a couple of these. Falak, however, owes his lofty rating to a second at Down Royal in January and has done nothing since to justify that kind of mark. Papal Motel has made no real progress over the last 12 months and is fully exposed but St Gallen is interesting. He hinted at ability on his hurdling debut back in December and has been going well on the Flat lately, winning at Galway 11 days ago. Mighty Concorde has switched stables and was put over fences on his reappearance so the vote goes to KOLUMBUS. Back to form when beaten under a length at Ballinrobe last month, Willie Mullins’ seven-year-old can finally fulfill earlier promise.
