In depth

Verdict

Ixora, an excellent head second to Gracchus at Tipperary in June, may have been unfortunate when carried out by a loose horse at Sligo last month though that form probably doesn't amount to much. Ever Dreaming, a close third behind the in-form City Hustler at Ballinrobe, didn't run up to that when 16l behind Impersonator at Galway though the firm ground may have been responsible. Scenic Bay has run well in two handicaps recently though further rain would aid her cause and the one to be on should be GENTLE NOEL, who keeps finding one too good but looks certain to appreciate stepping up in trip after being outpaced over the minimum.
