In depth

Verdict

INVINCIBLE ISLE showed enough on her debut to make her the one to beat here; Ermine And Velvet and Flora Trevelyan are also considered. The selection looked a certain future winner when chasing home Three Moons on her debut at Folkestone. She was doing her best work at the finish that day so the drop in trip is a slight concern as is her low draw, but nonetheless she stands out as the one to beat. Ermine and Velvet ran well over 7f on her debut and she is bred to be suited over further so the longer trip tonight is a big plus for her. Flora Trevelyan was an eyecatcher on her debut when she was slowly away, but she did well to finish a close second behind Arabian Mirage over 7f at Wolverhampton. This longer trip will also play to her strengths and she could run a big race. Queen Eleanor progressed well on her two runs last year and she is another who can go well, although she may be sharper for the run. Best Shot, Polemica, Critical Path and Stravella are interesting newcomers worth a market check, but the vote is given to Invincible Isle.
