steady start, held up in rear, never troubled leaders
held up mid-division, headway to chase leading pair over 2f out, soon ridden and no impression
made all, quicken pace halfway, ridden clear final furlong, unchallenged
slowly into stride, held up towards rear, some headway 3f out, weakened and hung left over 1f out
pulled hard, tracked winner, ridden over 2f out, kept on same pace
held up in last place, ridden over 2f out, kept on final furlong, never nearer
chased leading pair, weakened well over 2f out, eased over 1f out
Without his regular conqueror Kind in the line-up, Farewell Gift may be good enough to break his maiden tag here and make it tenth time lucky, while Dumnoni can give him most to do and Pizazz can also go well. The selection steps back up from six furlongs to seven here, and he should really be equally as good if not better over this longer trip, being by Cadeaux Genereux. A regular here at Kempton, he has run consistently well in defeat of late and a repeat of those efforts, plus the extra furlong, should be enough to get him home in front, though small stakes are advised. Dumnoni looks the main danger. Julian Poulton's charge handles trip and ground well and was far from disgraced off this mark behind Pango at Chepstow last time. If anything, she may have already been found out by the handicapper though, but we think she will run well and be in the shake-up. Pizazz runs over his optimum trip here and has been knocking on the door, but again he may have been given too much to do here by the handicapper. Nevertheless it will be a surprise if he is not involved in the final 100 yards, but our tentative vote here goes to Farewell Gift.
