In depth

Verdict

Nicky Henderson's Mighty Strong has done little wrong of late and is taken to complete a four-timer at the main expense of Peccadillo and Stars Out Tonight. The last mentioned made a pleasing return to action when an 11-length second to the selection at Newbury last month and, with improvement to come for that outing, he has to be respected on 22lbs better terms. Peccadillo represents the in-form stable of Robert Alner and should be well served by the course and distance, although he could do with being dropped a few pounds. Francois Doumen's runners at this meeting are always worth a second look so it would come as no surprise to see Kelami running a big race. Martin Pipe's Carryonharry is gradually slipping to a fair mark and has claims if fit enough for his return, while Top Buck has not had a great deal of racing in recent seasons and may be open to further improvement. Avalanche has yet to prove his effectiveness over today's trip so for the winner we return to Mighty Strong who has looked an improved performer this term and is taken to defy another rise in the weights.
