In depth

Verdict

MOTARJM looks attractively treated and we will take a chance on his fitness on his return to the track; the main danger looks to be Al Qeddaaf at the bottom of the weights. Jeff Pearce's gelding has been off the track for nearly a year but the break may have done this enigmatic character good. He has three wins to his name, all at Wolverhampton back in early 2008, however he is now 2lb below his highest winning mark and he looks worth chancing. Dear Maurice has been holding his form well this year, albeit without success. As a result his handicap mark hasn't really budged and he doesn't look well-treated. Quick Release ran well at Wolverhampton last time out and may be coming to hand, Mafeking has the course form in the book that makes him a live player, whilst the trip might be a slight worry with top-weight Ellemujie. The consistent trio of Hallingdal, Poyle Meg and Formula should once again run their race, whilst fans of Thunderball will be hoping that he is on one of his going days as sometimes he can look a S.P.E.C.T.R.E of his normal self. The main danger however may be Al Qeddaaf, a three-year-old from the William Haggas stable. He has improved for the step up in trip this season, however he will need more luck in running than he got last time out at the track. A chance is taken on Motarjm.
