Verdict

Only five runners go to post in this handicap, but despite the small field this is still competitive and narrow preference is for CAPE COLONY over Hendersyde and Planetary Motion. The selection is one of two course and distance winners in the field, and he is closley-matched with Clear Reef on their run last time out. On these terms Cape Colony should prove too strong and he is given the tentative nod. Clear Reef is entitiled to be thereabouts at the finish, although strictly on the form book he has a bit to find with our selection. Hendersyde looked progressive last season, but this trip is probably short of his best and at the forecast odds he could be one to take on. Planetary Motion was squeezed for room in a big handicap at Doncaster last month so it would be no surprise to see him bounce back. This is trappy and the vote goes to Cape Colony.
