This is a competitive handicap despite the small field. It’s interesting that Tom Lacey slips Snapdragon Fire straight into handicap company after just one run over fences, in which he was probably an unlucky loser. He isn’t badly treated on his hurdles form while Tidal Watch should have won at Newton Abbot two runs ago and came up against a rejuvenated rival last time. Adrrastos is ultra consistent but is getting no mercy from the handicapper. Lillington is best watched on his reappearance and Darebin has plenty to find but SOLAR IMPULSE has had excuses the last twice having been in good form at the start of the summer. He’s only a pound higher than when a staying-on second to the useful Dolos here in May when he had Adrrastos behind.

Lillington (IRE) 9-1 (10-3) Mid-division, hampered and dropped towards rear 3rd, never able to get back on terms, behind when pulled up before 7th, at Ayr 2m hcp lst (1) gd in Apr.
Tidal Watch (IRE) 11-2 (12-0) Held up in touch in last pair, tracked leaders 5 out, ridden after 2 out, went 2nd between last 2, kept on same pace, no chance with winner, 2nd of 8, 6l behind Theflyingportrait (11-12) at Kelso 2m 1f hcp (3) gd in Sep.
Snapdragon Fire (IRE) 15-8 (11-2) Held up in touch, inclined to jump right from 7th, joined leaders when blundered 3 out, pushed along and every chance last, ridden and not quicken flat, 2nd of 5, 1/2l behind Red Inca (11-2) at Southwell 2m (4) gd in Sep.
Solar Impulse (FR) 6-1 (11-1) Prominent, led 2nd, blundered 9th, not fluent and headed 11th, mistake 12th, soon weakened, 5th of 7, 23 3/4l behind Vivas (11-3) at Warwick 2m 4f hcp (3) gf in Sep.
