In depth

Verdict

It is getting quite predictable now, any decent two-year-old maiden race has a Godolphin entry and in their representative in this opening race is Fen Shui, who is selected to beat Miss Tolerance and Papality. Fen Shui was bred by the Darley stud and is by top American sire, Timber Country out of the Nell Gwyn winner Crystal Glazing. Like almost all of her stable-mates she will be fit and ready, so unless the market speaks dramatically against her she is the choice. Many of Sir Michael Stoute's juveniles have needed their first outing, but nevertheless Miss Tolerance, who is related to numerous winners, should be carefully monitored in the betting. Best of the experienced runners could be Papality, who put up an eye-catching debut effort when finishing a close up fifth in a hot Newmarket maiden. So the market will be of great importance here, but at this stage we will have to side with Fen Shui.
