Verdict

Malanos was placed over hurdles here last year and his latest second over fences at Sandown appeared to show improvement. He has to go on the short-list as does Fontwell runner-up Gowanauthat as the winner has scored again since. Mor Brook only weakened approaching the last over 3m at Exeter so the drop in distance should suit and he may reverse that form with eventual fourth Surging Seas. DOITFORTHEVILLAGE idled in front when odds-on at Exeter last month and had to settle for second. He also made jumping errors but hopefully that will have taught him a few lessons and he's probably worth another chance.
