Verdict

THE NEW ONE has made a winning reappearance in this in the last two years and will almost certainly complete the hat-trick if getting round safely. A high-class hurdler, he would surely have won a Champion Hurdle before now if jumping a little better and he should have too much for these. Stephanie Frances did win in this grade at Cheltenham in April and should win more races this winter, if not today, but connections seem unsure about Rayvin Black's best trip and he would have preferred an easier surface. The others look hopelessly out of their depth.
