      Verdict

      Whispering Warrior was sent off a well-backed favourite on his return to action at Lingfield and duly obliged. He steps up a grade off a 6lb higher mark for this and CALIFORNIA ENGLISH makes more appeal. The latter is not the most reliable but a repeat of his latest second at Wolverhampton would see the C&D winner bang there at the finish. Neither Fairyinthewind nor Breakheart could cope with a rise in the weights last time having won their penultimate starts but Buckland has a good shout in this grade and Diplomatic is not out of this either.
