In depth

Verdict

Drombeg West bolted up at Towcester at the end of last month but a 12lb hike in the weights looks harsh. Bostin has only been raised 6lb for winning over this trip at Plumpton and is better treated than Exemplary, 8lb higher than when beaten a short-head at Fontwell after scoring at Taunton. NEW HORIZONS beat a subsequent winner over track and trip in March when King's Request was back in fourth. He let backers down next time at Cheltenham but that was a much more competitive event than this and Nicky Henderson's five-year-old gets 5lb from the luckless Carry On Sydney, who always seems to find at least one good. Spring Steel, challenging when falling at Market Rasen last month, may be best of the rest.
