In depth

Verdict

Luca Cumani's runners are usually better for their seasonal debut, but ROCKALONG left a good impression when winning his maiden here in November and gets the vote. He wasn't unduly troubled in beating a subsequent winner on that occasion and looks a decent handicapper in the making. However, dangers abound, not least Net Whizz and Dubawi Island. Both have form on the Polytrack that entitles them to consideration, while Sword In Hand won here before finishing a decent second at Newbury on his handicap bow. Brocklebank beat a below par Lily Edge at Lingfield last time but is upped in class along with the progressive Flamborough Breeze and Lowther looks high enough in the weights now.
