In depth

Verdict

A 4lb rise wasn't enough to prevent DESERT COLOURS completing a hat-trick over 7f here last time. Kevin Ryan's charge can confirm latest running with The Dukkerer and go in again. Needless Shouting and Barbary will need to dig a bit deeper to get to grips with the selection on recent handicap form but the less-exposed types could prove more of a threat. River Goddess may come out best of the latter group given her steady progress in maiden company and she also has a fitness advantage over the likes of the other handicap debutants Majestic Sun, Cameley Dawn and Mister Mayday.
