Verdict

Although Beaver Patrol has never won off this mark this is not such a strong race and he is taken to score, with Border Music, Siren's Gift and Bonus given due respect. Beaver Patrol has won off a mark as high as 95, and generally runs up to that mark. 6f is his optimum trip and with little else red hot in the line-up he looks the most solid proposition. Siren's Gift is also similarly consistent and is back on a handy enough mark here, but she definitely prefers the minimum trip and may have to play second fiddle. Border Music is 5lb below a Wolverhampton win in the spring, so is certainly respected despite top weight, while Bonus is not quite as good these days as a couple of years ago, but can still be competitive in this event. Nevertheless Beaver Patrol is tough and consistent and can take this handicap.
